Shaking is going away!

The shaking is starting to fade again. We met with our doctor today to go over Olivia's medical. He said the medical is PERFECT! He said that she is "HUGE" for her age......lol...... and that's going by Canadian standards.

We had our fill in social worker visit and it went really smooth. We are starting to feel a bit more relieved tonight. Even though everything was fine, we still couldn't help that stress happening in the pit of our stomachs.

Thanks for all the cyber hugs and emails - they were much needed and appreciated.

Hi Debbie: Just a size perspective. Your Olivia may not be as huge as your doctor thinks. Our Kelly was about 13 pounds at her medical at about 4.5 months old. We didn't meet her until she turned 11 months old.
My doctor figured she would be around 17-20 pounds (based on where she was on the growth chart. She was around 8 pounds when she arrived (2 weeks after she was born)at the SWI.
Babies typically triple their birth weight in the first year I had read. Kelly was 17.5 pounds at her medical in Beijing after eating lots and lots for the first week with us. So she didn't gain much in the 6-7 months in between the medical and meeting us or else she lost some due to being sick or else she was weighed with lots of clothes on.
Her 5 month old cousin outweighed her when she was 20 months and he was a very chunky monkey-over 9 1/2 pounds at birth!
Kelly will be 4 in Feb. She is around 38 pounds and approaching 40 inches tall. She is a very strong girl and doing wonderfully for us! My doctor figures she will be tall for a chinese girl (5 foot 6 range)so you never know.
good luck with the move. We moved in sept. and I hope we never have to move again! So many boxes and so hard to do with a busy little girl hanging around.

Thanks Theresa for all the info on your daughter. We thought it was funny for her to be so big from China. I guess time will tell.

It's a relief to get those two things out of the way eh? We had ours yesterday too and all went well. One step closer to our little Olivia and Samara. :)

I am sorry you had the stress. Isnt it always the case that things hit at once? On the plus side, you will have a new house for her to grow up in.
